OPENING DOORS WITH ARAD GOCH

» Martin, Nico and a few pupils from year 3 enjoying themselves with the instruments

The pupils of year 3 had a great time this morning with Nico and Martin, watching their performance of "Instant Orchestra". It was a very lively session, with everyone (including the staff) moving to the sound of the accordion and the double bass. Later on, everyone was introduced to a traditional Indonesian instrument, the Angklung. Every one of us, with an angklung in hand, managed to create a very rhythmic and musical performance. An Instant Orchestra indeed!

FAIRTRADE ASSEMBLY

» Year 5 pupils shared their message with the rest of the school in our morning assembly

How many of you knew it was Fairtrade Fortnight? The school is currently in the process of trying to gain the Fair Trade status, therefore we are very busy trying to persuade the staff to buy Fair Trade tea and coffee for the staff room. Fair Trade coffee was served during our Coffee Afternoon last week as well as having a stall full of Fair Trade goods. We will be continuing to learn about Fair Trade during our lessons, and the fruit shop sells Fair Trade bananas on a daily basis. Do you make an effort to buy Fair Trade products in your home?

» Pupils wearing their traditional costumes as we celebrate St. David's Day

"One of my favourite days at school is St. David's Day. It's a day when we can all dress up in our traditional costumes or wear the Welsh rugby jersey. Everyone wears either a leek or a daffodil with pride. Today I played the part of Dewi Sant in the school assembly, and reminded everyone of Dewi's last words:

'Be joyful and keep your faith and your creed. Do the little things that you have seen and heard me do.'"

Daniel, Class 6J

PTA COFFEE AFTERNOON

Many thanks to everyone who supported the Coffee Afternoon once again this year.

The event was opened this year by Mr Meirion Appleton, former Manager of Aberystwyth Town FC. Congratulations to Danny from Year 3 for winning the tickets. We hope you enjoy your day!
